Shared Disk Example

• System A mounts disk D

• System A disk gets sick, but doesn't die

  • (dirty write cache)

• System B takes over for system A, mounts disk D

• System A feels better, empties its write cache

• Disk D is now corrupted.

• System A quorum now notices it shouldn't be writing to the drive. OOPS.
